Aldcliffe is a hamlet a mile and a half south-west of Lancaster city centre, on the east bank of the River Lune. It is genuinely tiny — the old township recorded 68 people in 1871 and 69 in 1931 before the civil parish was abolished in 1935, and it is now part of Aldcliffe-with-Stodday.

At that scale there is no local infrastructure and the lanes are narrow. A large van will not reach every door, and often cannot turn once it is in. Telling us what the approach and turning space are like is worth far more to an accurate quote than the room count.

The Lancaster Canal runs through, which limits crossings and can make a property that looks close on a map a longer approach in practice. If yours is reached over a bridge or along a towpath-side lane, say so when you book.

Being close to the city centre means we can usually work to a narrow time window here, but the timing has to be planned rather than improvised. We would rather scope the load properly and clear it in one visit than make repeat trips down a single-track lane.
