Garstang jobs often come with more than just the main rooms to empty. We regularly see detached and semi-detached homes, long drives, side paths, and extra spaces that have quietly filled up over time — lofts, sheds, garages, outbuildings, and garden stores that are packed with boxed belongings, old furniture, white goods, and the kind of overflow that never seems to make it back indoors.
That matters, because a house clearance in Garstang is rarely just about carrying a few items downstairs. It can mean working around tight parking, narrow access points, stairs, or a driveway that needs keeping clear while we load. We plan the job around the property, so we can move items out safely and keep the process calm for you.
Some clearances in the area are straightforward empty-room jobs. Others involve a mix of bereavement clearance, tenant move-out clearance, downsizing, or a property being prepared for sale or letting. We sort as we go, separate what can be reused, and deal properly with what needs disposal.
If you’re in the centre of Garstang or out towards the edges of the town, we can usually work efficiently without creating a lot of disruption. From base in Lancaster, Garstang is around 26 minutes and 8.1 miles away, so it’s a practical run for us when you need a prompt visit.

When we come across furniture, boxed items, or household goods that still have life left in them, we look at the best reuse route rather than sending everything straight to waste. Garstang homes often have useful overflow tucked away in lofts and sheds, and that can include pieces that are still suitable for a second home.
Where items are in the right condition, we can separate them for charity or furniture reuse routes such as Age UK Shop, Save The Children, Sue Ryder, Cancer Help, and St John's Hospice Furniture Shop. Larger furniture may also be suitable for local home furniture shops, depending on condition and demand.
Anything that can’t be reused is sorted for responsible disposal at licensed facilities. We work with recognised recycling routes, including LCC's Lancaster Household Waste Recycling Centre and Preston Household Recycling Centre, so your clearance is handled properly and with the minimum of waste going to landfill.
If you want a house clearance that feels organised rather than overwhelming, we’ll take it from there and work through the property methodically.
Pick up the phone - we are ready when you are.
We’re often called when a property needs to be emptied with care and a bit of judgement, not just muscle. That can be after a move, during a bereavement, when a tenant has left items behind, or when a home needs clearing before it goes on the market.
In Garstang, that often means working through family homes with loft storage, garages full of seasonal items, or sheds and side buildings that have become a holding area for everything that no longer fits inside. We’re set up for the sort of clearance where you need the unwanted things gone, but you still want the useful ones spotted and separated properly.
If you’re helping a parent downsise, dealing with a property after death, or trying to clear a house that’s been lived in for years, we keep things respectful and organised from the first visit to the last item out.

Local knowledge
Garstang is a market town of 4,428 in the parish at the 2021 census, with 6,779 in the wider built-up area at the 2011 count. It sits equidistant between Lancaster and Preston, ten miles from each, so it is one of the longer runs we make.
Because of that distance we would rather scope a job properly and clear it in one visit than make repeat trips. A room-by-room description, or photographs, gets you a far more accurate quote than a rough estimate.
The Thursday market dates back to the early 1300s and the Market Cross at the top of the High Street is still the landmark. The old centre brings the constraints that come with age — frontages onto the road, limited parking, and stairs built well before modern furniture.
The town sits on the River Wyre, the River Calder and the Lancaster Canal, so there are several water crossings and low-lying areas to plan around. The A6 bypassed the town in 1928, which keeps the centre workable. Garstang declared itself the world's first Fairtrade Town in April 2000.
At 8.1 miles and roughly 26 minutes from our base, the onward route is worked out before the van is loaded rather than after. Anything still usable is kept separate as we go, and only what is genuinely finished with goes to a household recycling centre.

We cannot promise any particular shop will accept a given item — that is always their call on the day — but sorting for reuse first is how we keep as much as possible out of the skip.
