If you need old furniture moved out of the way in Brookhouse, we can handle the heavy lifting for you. We remove single items, awkward room sets, and full loads of bulky furniture from family homes, bungalows, garages, loft spaces and smaller properties where getting large items out safely can be the hardest part.
Brookhouse is close enough to Lancaster for straightforward scheduling, and collections here are often arranged around everyday life rather than long lead times. We regularly help people who are replacing furniture, clearing a room before decorating, or simply cannot move a sofa, bed or wardrobe themselves.
Access can vary from one address to the next. Some jobs are as simple as a front-door carry-out, while others involve tight stairwells, narrow halls, garden paths, shared entrances or limited parking near the house. We plan for that in advance so the collection feels controlled rather than rushed.
Sofas and armchairs, dining tables and chairs, beds and mattresses, wardrobes, cabinets, sideboards, bookcases and mixed bedroom or lounge sets.
We do the lifting, manoeuvring and loading, including the awkward turns, heavier frames and bulky pieces that are too big for a car boot or small trailer. If a sofa needs taking down stairs or a wardrobe has to come apart first, we can factor that into the collection.

If furniture is clean, usable and suitable for passing on, we look at reuse before disposal. That can help reduce waste and gives items a better second life, especially with decent sofas, dining sets and bedroom furniture that still have plenty of use left.
When items are no longer suitable for reuse, we make sure they are sent through the proper disposal route. We can also support clear-outs timed around trips to licensed facilities, including Lancashire County Council’s Lancaster Household Waste Recycling Centre and the Carnforth site when that is the best fit.
A lot of Brookhouse customers call us when new furniture is due in. We can help clear the old sofa, bed or wardrobe first so you are not left juggling two deliveries, blocked hallways or a room full of packaging on the same day.
A lot of furniture removal jobs in Brookhouse are less about the items themselves and more about the awkwardness of moving them. We are set up to make that part easy.
Pick up the phone - we are ready when you are.
If you live in Brookhouse and have bulky furniture that is too heavy, awkward or simply too much to move alone, this service is for you. We work with households in family homes, bungalows and flats, plus anyone dealing with stairs, narrow entrances or limited parking.
It is also a sensible option if you do not have a van, do not want to risk injury lifting oversised items, or need furniture out before replacement deliveries arrive. We often help people making room for a new sofa, bed, wardrobe or dining table, especially when timing matters and the old pieces have to go first.
Landlords and property owners can also use us when a room or flat needs clearing between tenancies. If old furniture has been left behind, damaged, or is no longer worth keeping, we can remove it without you having to make repeated trips or organise disposal yourself.

Send over a few details about the furniture, how much there is, and any access points we should know about.

Local knowledge
Brookhouse is one of the five settlements in the Caton-with-Littledale parish, five miles north-east of Lancaster in the Lune valley, inside the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The parish is hilly — it covers over 8,000 acres and rises from about 300 metres at Caton Moor to 561 at Ward's Stone — and that terrain is the practical constraint. Approaches climb, lanes narrow, and properties above their road with steps up to the door change the crew size more than the load does.
The Church of St Paul is the parish church, built around 1245, rebuilt in the 1500s and substantially reconstructed between 1865 and 1867, keeping its original tower and some Norman work. Older property around it brings low beams, narrow doorways and stairs built centuries before modern furniture.
The A683 from Lancaster to Kirkby Lonsdale, built as a turnpike in 1812, is the route in. The old railway closed in 1966 and its corridor is now a cycle and pedestrian path, which is useful to know because it is not a vehicle route however it looks on a map.
At 5.6 miles and roughly 21 minutes from our base, the onward route is worked out before the van is loaded rather than after. Anything still usable is kept separate as we go, and only what is genuinely finished with goes to a household recycling centre.

We cannot promise any particular shop will accept a given item — that is always their call on the day — but sorting for reuse first is how we keep as much as possible out of the skip.
Household recycling centres closest to Brookhouse
You do not need to visit any of these yourself — the point of booking us is that the loading, the trip and the disposal are all covered.
